what can you get for 10 dollars

Hi guys! Sorrry for the super long haitus! Good news is that spring is finally arriving here and everything is just happier in general! No more thick and heavy outerwear!
Over my break, I finally watched Cruel Intentions. It was so malicious! But Kathryn Merteuil (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar) was the most evil and coniving bitch I have ever seen. She could easily rival our beloved Queen B. Kathryn was the Blair of the nineties, but even meaner! Unlike Blair, you don't really want to grow up to be Kathryn Merteuil. Or maybe you do. She is super glamourous and has fab outfits. (sorry about the pictures, you can't really see the entire outfits...)

I decided to buy a $10 magazine (Harper's Bazaar UK) while waiting in the airport (it was a very long wait!) and I'm glad to say that it was worth the price I paid. It had Emily Blunt on the cover and James McAvoy! Double score!

She was so much cooler than Anne Hathaway plays in the Devil Wears Prada.

He's a such great actor (and not to mention, really yummy), pity he's only been in few good movies.

once upon a time

Finally my paper is done and over with! Time to celebrate!! Or work on my never ending assignments and essays... Which to pick....

Okay, so I know I'm terrible at following fashion week... So I won't try this time. Who knows, I'll probably post about more shows like this! haha

I love this! Looks like a fairytale. Or Alice gone bad!

I was super excited when I saw Laurel in the shows!!! Doesn't she look stunning? Congrats girl!

torn

or

Oh the decisions... Girly or rocker? Pretty or glam?
The dilemma is choosing which one. The fashion world has def fallen towards edgier looks but then the girly florals popped up everywhere in the spring shows. Hmmm. Feeling kind of Valentine's Day, I think I'll be adopting a romantic look just for February (winter doesn't end until April here...). What about you?

Emma Watson! I love this!
I've been super busy especially with a major paper coming up! So Happy early Valentine's Day!

Quel semaine!

While I was trying to decide which french actress to do a french project on, I came across the stunning Clémence Poésy in a Lula shoot.

But in the end I decided to choose Marion Cotillard. She's just as gorgeous in the Madame Figaro shoot. How much do you want those shoes?

À demain!

it's time for a tan, i think

I forgot how much I loved Dirty Dancing Havana Nights until I stumbled upon in on the tv. Movies like that and Mamma Mia! made me realise that I really want to go somewhere hotter than here and wear dresses outside that don't require tights or some sort of thick outerwear. Okay so maybe it's time for spring break to come. And maybe my parents should book plane tickets for cuba, the bahamas, mexico or somewhere warm and beachy. But unfortunately, spring break is in two months and I'm staying in Canada for spring break. Oh well. Don't get me wrong, I still love winter. I just want to lounge on a sandy beach for a while. Haha, am I contradicting myself? I think so. Anyways...

Flimsy beautiful dresses like these! Which you can pull over your swimsuit or dress up for the night time (dancing anyone?).

By the way, did you know Kristey (the main character in Havana Nights) is Briony Tallis from Atonement!? I thought she looked familiar!

Hmmm if only if we could wear these dresses in the dead of winter... But we can, à la Julie Frakes snapped by Garance Doré in October! or not. Not in below freezing temperature at least.

the new and the old

I can't believe its been three years since I started this blog already... Is it me or has the years just zoomed past? Well go have fun tonight at your last party of the year! Starting tonight, about four more months of winter! Or threemore for those who live in somewhere other than Canada.... But admit it, you will miss the cold weather and all that comes with it once it's gone. I will.

Before winter, this editorial from Fashion Magazine (a Canadian mag) made me so excited for winter. And I thought I'd share it with you! Hang in there!

Those of you who have been following my irregular posts will know that I have a certain obessession with all things feathery. So when I saw these photos on The Cherry Blossom Girl I nearly died! They're like the perfect fairytale!

(to see them all click here)

Anyways,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful time with family and friends! I know I did! I also ventured out to the malls on boxing day to see if I could get any good deals. I must say I'm pretty excited about the new items I bought and the christmas presents I got!

SO, everyone is probably sick and tired of the Twilight fever. The books are obsessed over by annoying tweens (ok, I admit I read them... I wanted to see what so interesting!) and the movie was just awful. It was saved by Kristen Stewart's acting, I think. Cedric Diggory (aka Robert Pattison) was so bad in the movie, it was disappointing. But there's something very alluring about Kristen Stewart. Well first of all, she's grown up from Panic Room! And she's a very captivating model too. Or why would she be in Vogue Italia in 2007 and teenvogue several time? Right? So do you love her or hate her?

I think her hair is gorgeous... The Instyle shoot was my favourite. All the clothes were amazing. Blazers, leather, ruffles, stilettos... Very glamourous and sexy.

It reminded me of Haper's Bazaar UK November editorial: The Wicked Lady. One of the photos is my header! A lot of feminine ruffles paired with leather.

I don't want a lot for Christmas

Dear Santa,

I don't want a lot for Christmas. But Christmas is coming up very soon and I hope this letter reaches you in time. I think I've been a good girl most of the times, with exception of neglecting this blog, and very few other things... Here's what I want. It's really not that much. I hope you can get it for me.
Thanks Santa! And merry Christmas!
Love M

P.S. I hope you like chocolate chip cookies

1. feather skirt!

2. yummy leather goods

3. lots and lots ruffles

4. a blazer

5. chains of pearls

Dear Readers,
Thank you for bearing with my disappearing act so often. I know you're all probably sick of my feeble excuses.
Anyways merry Christmas or Happy Holidays! It's coming up so soon, but it doesn't even feel like it yet. I feel as if you deserve a present very much! So what do you want me to post on? It can be anything. Questions, tours (?), a person, an animal etc etc!
And, one more thing, I felt as if I needed to update the layout, inlcuding my links. So if you want me to link you, just tell me!
Love M

watching the clouds

Hey lovelies! I think the weather and the busy school life is really tiring me out, but secretly I know it's drivers ed that has been draining away my soul... Good thing drivers is over (I passed!!!) and I have you guys! The wonderful bloggers that have kept me from falling away from the fashion world completely in these dark times! But even through all my uninspiration-ess, I find myself constantly trying on different outfits and longing to cut up my t-shirts (à la the uber cool and stylish girls in the blogsphere). I even feel the need to dress up to go to Wal-Mart for a couple of minutes:

Shorts-Jacob; Sweater- Ralph Lauren; Vest-Hong Kong; Scarf-Little India in Singapore

John Galliano has always been my favourite shows to look at. The theme, the makeup, the hairstyles, the dramatic-ness of everything! Its so much fun! But the clothes are amazing too! I love love love it!

S/S 2009

Continuing with my love for draping with Jill Stuart's Spring/Summer 2009 collection!!!!! It's really effortless, like a butterfly! The shoes in this collection are very covetable. Very.

Emma before the Sonia Rykiel show. The design of the mini is stunning.

More GC!! B looking like a princess in that beautiful coat.

Taylor and Willa Holland is looking edgy. Need those booties!

Well, I'm off! Hope you enjoyed that utterly messy post...
